A Development Plan is what you write in
order to be effective in each segment of your fundraising
activities.
As an outcome of Strategic Planning, your
Development Plan spells out exactly what you are trying to
accomplish in each area of fundraising. It addresses:
• How you will find
new donors
•
How you will
motivate "Impulse" donors to become "Annual Donors"
•
How you will Build
Relationships with Major Donors, Foundations and Corporations
•
How your Board
will network on behalf of the ministry
•
What the Budget
and Expected Income will be for each segment of the plan
• What your overall Communications Plan is to get
the story out
The main goal of the Development Plan is to use
the resources of the ministry to fund the Strategic Objectives that
were identified in the Strategic Planning Process. This can be as
simple as an annual budget that needs funding, or as complex as
preparing the organization for major growth and expansion.
